Spiritual Gift Intercessor
The Greek word for the Spiritual Gift Intersession is “enteuxis” G1783 or “proseuchomai” G4336.
Definition and Purpose of the Intersession Gift
The Spiritual gift of Intercessor is the special ability God gives to use prayer with confidence and power to intervene on behalf of an individual or group. Groups need someone with this gift to remain intentional about inviting God’s presence and provision in to bless, protect, and guide other members of the body.
Service ideas: support through prayer (e.g., prayer walk, prayer team, lead prayer for missions, pray through spiritual warfare, committed prayer for ministries and church leaders, prayer counselor), pray. er partner, teach on interceding, spiritual protection of the church
Vulnerability of the Intercessor
All the gifts, talents and abilities that we have can be used negatively. When Intersession is used in a selfish, harsh, over-barring, reckless manner or when it is enabling sin or dysfunctional behavior, it would not be Spirit-led or an expression of love. This gift is best used when coupled with Governing, Craftsman, Prophecy, Knowledge, Administration and Discernment
For example, someone with the Intercession gifting could be blessed to have a sympathetic personality, but in turn might unintentionally assume others burdens.

Matthew 6:9 This, then, is how you should pray: “‘Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.’ For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.
Matthew 14:23 After he had dismissed them, he went up on a mountainside by himself to pray. Later that night, he was there alone,
Matthew 26:42 He went away a second time and prayed, “My Father, if it is not possible for this cup to be taken away unless I drink it, may your will be done.”
Ephesians 6:18 And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.
1 Timothy 2:1 I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people
1 Timothy 4:5 because it is consecrated by the word of God and prayer.
