Where Divine Destiny Meets Devoted Paths
I’m Hannah Rico Fletcher and I am excited to share life with you through this Divine Destiny Blog. I pray this year the best ever for both of us. I made a resolution to grow in joyful and generous giving. This renewed commitment is going to be great for me because I got caught living with a poverty mentality. My focus had been on what I was lacking instead of the abundance of blessings that I have.
It is time for a complete transformation of mind and heart and I am more than ready. I am determined to claim the fullness of God’s blessings for me. The remodel has begun, walls are coming down and old window coverings are being thrown away. The demolition isn’t complete, but I already am starting to identify with the upgrade. I can’t wait to see what God and I can do together and I hope the same for you.
Let us journey together as we eagerly wait for and enjoy the overflow of God’s love. We can stay connected through Facebook or by adding #DivineDestinyDevotedPaths to your own journey post.
Searching for the Purpose of Life
“For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. 14 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. 15 My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place, when I was woven together in the depths of the earth. 16 Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be. 17 How precious to me are your thoughts, God! How vast is the sum of them! 18 Were I to count them, they would outnumber the grains of sand— when I awake, I am still with you.” – Psalms 139:13-18 New International Version (NIV)
“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— 9 not by works, so that no one can boast. 10 For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” – Ephesians 2:8-10 New International Version (NIV)
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. 12 Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. 13 You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. 14 I will be found by you,” declares the Lord” – Jeremiah 29:11-14a
Your Unique Divine Destiny
Psalms 139 is an amazing chapter of the bible. If you haven’t had the pleasure of reading it, you need to do so right away. I can just picture God watching over us like a loving father, constantly thinking of us and making plans to give us hope and a future. God is so intentional. As I get to know God better, I can easily see that nothing is wasted or by accident. Everything and everyone has their place in the world, but I did not always understand this.
Looking back to the journals of my youth, I can see that my search for life started very early on. I was grasping for the meaning of life, a glimmer of person of anything close to a divine destiny. Deep down, I knew something was wrong. I could not quite grasp the purpose of my existence and all the brokenness that seemed to surround me. My vision was crowded by injustice, hidden emptiness, apathy, counterfeit distractions and discouraging roadblocks. There was a desperation inside of me.
I was missing something.
Success? Security? Sex? Romance? Money? Fame? Adventure? No matter how close I got to fulfilling these desires and goals, true holistic fulfillment alluded me. The more I filled my life with these worldly solutions, the more I realized I was chasing mirages of happiness. There had to be more to this life, a more meaningful final destination, a bigger story.
Unfortunately, the last place I was willing to look was to God, but that didn’t stop Him from coming to me. It was this aching hunger and longing that drove me down the divine path, which I was created to embrace. My journey had just begun and what was about to happen was more exciting than what I could fathom at the moment.
