We accomplish this by mobilizing volunteers to positively impact the world for the glory of God, facilitate growth through mentoring & training, and by hosting like-minded ministries, teams, and individuals on The Edge Ministry Base.
Costa Rica Mission Trips For Individuals
The Ocean’s Edge Missions Program invites individuals to step into cross-cultural ministry and discover what it means to live missions as a lifestyle. Whether you come for one week or six, you’ll be immersed in a Christ-centered community that challenges you to serve, grow, and love others well. During your time in Jaco, Costa Rica, you’ll have the opportunity to get involved in local outreach with youth and teens, participate in sports and recreation programs, support the homeless and those in recovery, help lead church events, contribute to community clean-ups and construction projects, and engage in discipleship among young adults.
Each experience is uniquely shaped around your God-given gifts, personality, and passions. Through hands-on ministry, mentoring, and intentional discipleship, you’ll learn how to use your strengths to glorify God and serve those around you. This isn’t just a trip—it’s an opportunity to deepen your faith, expand your worldview, and walk confidently in your calling.
The Experience: Working On The Edge
During your short-term trip, you’ll be living and serving at The Edge, the heart of Ocean’s Edge Ministry in Jaco, Costa Rica. Nestled in the middle of this vibrant beach town, the base offers hostel-style bunkrooms where volunteers share life, meals, and mission. The environment is simple, community-oriented, and purpose-filled—designed to help you focus on God and grow through service.
Jaco is known for its stunning beaches, lush mountains, and surf culture, but it’s also a place deeply in need of hope. Beneath the beauty lies brokenness—mass tourism has brought challenges like sex trafficking, addiction, and poverty. Yet in the midst of it all, God is moving powerfully. Through daily service and intentional relationships, volunteers like you get to be part of that redemptive work.
Each day offers new ways to serve. Ministry here is deeply relational, hands-on, and rooted in partnership with the local church and government. Life at The Edge requires flexibility. Plans often change as real needs arise, but with each day comes fresh opportunity to love people and reflect Jesus in practical, meaningful ways.
